When does my coverage begin? [ click here ]
Your coverage begins the day after your pet is enrolled. (12:01 AM EST)
How does EmergencyCare Work? [ click here ]
In the event that a 3rd party brings lost pet into a clinic or shelter in need of medical attention, emergency personnel will scan your pet for a microchip to access your pet's unique ID number. The emergency personnel will then call 24PetWatch and during that call the 24PetWatch representative will inform them that your pet is covered by EmergencyCare. This allows the 24PetWatch representative to authorize up to $3,000 of life saving medical treatment for immediate use by the attending veterinarian while 24PetWatch is contacting you, the owner.
How do I submit a claim?[ click here ]
Once you are contacted, you will be given the name and phone number of the clinic where your pet can be located. A completed claim form along with the paid invoices showing the breakdown of the treatment should be sent to our office for processing. The fax number and mailing address is available at the bottom of the claim form.
My pet is not Microchipped; can I still purchase EmergencyCare? [ click here ]
No, EmergencyCare will not work without a Microchip. Please contact your veterinarian to have your pet microchipped!
My Pet is microchipped but not registered with 24PetWatch, what do I do? [ click here ]
Not to worry, signing up for EmergencyCare will automatically register your pet’s microchipping information with 24PetWatch! No additional charges apply for this great service.
Can I wait until my pet is missing to purchase EmergencyCare? [ click here ]
No, EmergencyCare must be purchased prior to your pet going missing. Much like car insurance, the policy must be purchased before an incident occurs.
Does my pet have to be lost for this policy to come into effect? [ click here ]
Yes, your pet must be missing and taken to the veterinary clinic by a 3rd party.
I already have pet insurance, why should I purchase EmergencyCare? [ click here ]
Unlike a regular pet insurance policy, EmergencyCare has been specifically created to offer your pet coverage for lifesaving treatment while you are not there. EmergencyCare insurance may only be used in situations where your pet is lost, has been brought to a clinic or shelter by a 3rd party and is in need of immediate veterinary attention. EmergencyCare gives your pet the chance of life by avoiding a delay in treatment while 24PetWatch is contacting you, the owner.
Do I have to pay back the pre-authorized veterinary expenses? [ click here ]
No, life-saving expenses incurred will be covered by 24PetWatch Insurance up to the policy limits.
What veterinary costs are covered? [ click here ]
EmergencyCare provides coverage for life saving treatment provided while the pet is lost ie. after the pet has been hit by a car. Coverage is not provided for situations in which the pet need veterinary care for a non life-threatening condition ie. a cut paw. The decision over whether the pet's life was in danger will be made by the attending veterinarian.
What exactly are recovery costs? [ click here ]
Recovery costs are expenses incurred in an attempt to recover your missing pet. Examples of recovery costs include printing of fliers, ads with local media, or offering a reward.
